The strengths and qualities of our Founder, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc continue to influence and inspire our firm today.
- The stage of 2000s(Periods of startup, expansion and consolidation)
- (1/2003) – Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc established TLS, a small law office located at 82 Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, with only one staff.
- (1/2004) – TLS Law Office merged with Luatviet Law Firm, a reputable law firm specialising in litigation and business consulting.
- (1/2005) – Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc was elected as the Managing Lawyer of Luatviet Law Firm.
- (5/2006) – Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc, Mr. Christian Brendel and Mr. Nguyen Gia Huy Chuong together established a new law firm called Phuoc & Partners and Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc holds the position of Chairman and Mr. Christian Brendel holds the position of Managing Partner.
- (8/2006) – Mr. Pham Quoc Tuan joined Phuoc & Partners and soon after, Phuoc & Partners opened a branch in Hanoi as well as expanded its activities to the litigation practice. At the same time, the Da Nang branch was also opened and Mr. Pham Quoc Tuan assumed the position of head of the Da Nang branch.
- (4/2008) – Christian Brendel left Phuoc & Partners and established his own law firm called Brendel & Associates. Right after that, Mr. Nguyen Gia Huy Chuong was elected to the position of Managing Partner while Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc still held the position of Chairman. Besides, Ms. Truong My Ly was elected as a member lawyer and head of the Hanoi branch.
- (8/2008) – Dinh Quang Thuan from Vilaf Law Firm joined Phuoc & Partners and was officially promoted as a member lawyer since December 2008 and together with Lawyer Pham Quoc Tuan to be in charge of the litigation practice.
- The stage of 2010s (Phuoc & Partners’ reputation for growth in the practices of tax, labour & employment and real estate was recognised as one of the leading law firms in Vietnam)
- (1/2011) – Tran Thanh Tung was promoted to become a member lawyer, responsible for the Investment practice and as appointed as Head of Da Nang branch.
- (6/2012) – Phuoc & Partners expanded its activities in the intellectual property practice and welcomed Mr. Nguyen Duc Hieu, who used to be the chief lawyer of the Hanoi branch of Rouse Legal (a company headquartered in the UK), became a member lawyer in charge of the Intellectual Property practice.
- (12/2012) – For the first time since its establishment, the number of domestic and foreign corporate and individual clients using Phuoc & Partners’ legal services has reached 1,000. Also during this time, there were nearly 60 lawyers, supporting staff and interns working for Phuoc & Partners nationwide.
- (2/2014) – Ms. Truong My Ly left Phuoc & Partners and worked for a well-known commercial bank in Vietnam as an in-house counsel.
- (9/2014) – Phuoc & Partners has invested in building its own new office located at 70 Quoc Huong Street, Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City. Also during this time, there were nearly 70 lawyers, supporting staff and interns working for Phuoc & Partners nationwide.
- (3/2015) – Mr. Pham Quoc Tuan left Phuoc & Partners to establish his own law firm called Dimac.
- (4/2015) – Phuoc & Partners was honoured to receive the title of “Employer of Choice 2015” by Asian Legal Business for law firms with the best working environment in Vietnam.
- (2/2016) – There have been 1,500 domestic and foreign individual and corporate clients who have trusted to use Phuoc & Partners’ professional legal services.
- (7/2016) – VLT Law Firm (http://vltlawyers.com/), a law firm specialising in investment and intellectual property consulting, has been merged into Phuoc & Partners since 1 July 2016, helping Phuoc & Partners expand its activities in the field of intellectual property in general and copyright in particular, as well as strengthen its activities in the investment and corporate practices. Also during this time, there were nearly 80 lawyers, supporting staffs and interns working for Phuoc & Partners nationwide.
- (4/2017) – Phuoc & Partners was honoured to receive the title of “Employer of Choice 2017” by Asian Legal Business for law firms with the best working environment in Vietnam.
- (7/2018) – Three lawyers i.e. Ms. Nguyen Van Quynh, Ms. Duong Tieng Thu and Mr. Hoang Quoc Nhat Trung, have been promoted to become full-time member lawyers and this was the first time since its establishment the number of member lawyers has reached 10.
- (2/2019) – The number of domestic and foreign corporate and individual clients using Phuoc & Partners’ legal services reached 2,000.
- (4/2019) – Phuoc & Partners was once again selected by the Asian Legal Business Magazine as “The Employer of Choice 2019” among the best law firms in Vietnam. This is the third time Phuoc & Partners has received this award.
- The stage of organisational restructuring to welcome the industrial era 4.0
- (8/2019) – 8 member lawyers of Phuoc & Partners including Mr. Nguyen Gia Huy Chuong, Mr. Dinh Quang Thuan and Mr. Tran Thanh Tung have left Phuoc & Partners to establish a new law firm called Global Vietnam Lawyers.
- (9/2019) – Ms. Lac Thi Tu Duy was promoted as a new member lawyer to be in charge of the litigation practice.
- (4/2020) – Ms. Truong Thi Hien joined Phuoc & Partners as a member lawyer and in charge of the practices of investment, commercial and corporate.
- (5/2020) – Truong My Ly rejoined Phuoc & Partners and assumed the position of Branch Manager of Hanoi Office.
- (10/2020) – Ms. Lac Thi Tu Duy left Phuoc & Partners to set up a new law firm under the name Lac Duy & Associates.
