If you wish to use the vessel on the purpose of transferring the goods, lease or anything else, the owner must register it with the competent agency. This article shall render the procedure regarding the time-bound ship registration
- The required dossiers to register the vessel include:
+ Ship registration declaration (Standard form);
+ Certificate of ship’s capacity (a certified copy or a copy enclosed with the original for comparison);
+ Certificate of ship classification (a certified copy or a copy enclosed with the original for comparison);
+ Certificate of business registration or certificate of enterprise registration (a certified copy or a copy enclosed with the original for comparison); In case of registration of official-duty ships, the decision to set up an agency or unit of the competent authority must be submitted (a certified copy or a copy enclosed with the original for comparison);
+ Certificate of temporary suspension of registration (if the ship is registered overseas) or deletion of ship registration (original);
+ Ship charter or bareboat charter contract (original copy);
+ Minutes of ship delivery (the original);
+ Documents proving the payment of registration fee according to regulations, including registration fee declarations certified by tax agencies and vouchers of remittance into the state budget (copy enclosed with the original for comparison); if the ship is not subject to registration fee, the registration fee declaration must be certified by the tax agency (copy enclosed with the original for comparison);
- Competent authorities for implementing the procedure to register the vessel: in order to register the vessel; you should submit your dossiers to Maritime Sub-Departments and the Port Authority.
- Leading time: Within 02 working days from the date of receipt of a complete and valid file.
- Results: After submitting the dossiers to register the vessel, you shall be granted the certificate of ship registration, which is valid for a limited period of time.
- Fee: registered volume of 3,000 GT or more – 1,500 VND / GT times. The registered capacity is under 500 GT – 3,000 VND / GT-time.
