Attorney Thu was a Senior Partner of Phuoc & Partners LLP from September 2010 to present. Prior to that, Thu worked for the Branch of Gide Loyrette Nouel Law Firm in Ho Chi Minh City from January 2009 to September 2010. Thu was a Senior Lawyer of Vision & Associates Legal from May 2003 to September 2008. Thu used to be Legal Counsel for H&M Consulting Co. Ltd from May 2001 to April 2003. Thu also worked as Legal Director for Diageo Vietnam for a period of 06 consecutive months to provide consulting services and internal legal issues in daily business activities of such enterprise.
Graduating from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law in 2001, Attorney Thu has about 18 years of professional legal experience. In particular, Thu has extensive experience in the field of labour and employment. Thu are consulting and supporting multinational enterprises in formulating labour use plans, planning on employment settlement options, structuring labour force resources in acquisition, merger, consolidation, division, separation of enterprises, and retrenching the employees due to change of organizational structure, change of technologies as well as economic reason in enterprises. Attorney Thu are assisting foreign-invested and domestic enterprises in carrying out various legal issues related to trade unions, compliance with Vietnam’s labour laws, foreign employees working in Vietnam; consulting recruitment and hiring; consulting and drafting as well reviewing labour related legal documents including but not limited to labour contracts, probationary contracts, vocational training contracts, bond contracts, labour subleasing contracts, internal policies on salaries, salary-allowances and benefits/welfares, salary scales, internal labour regulations, collective labour agreement, democracy regulations as well as consulting labour discipline process, labour contract termination process, and labour dispute settlement.
Attorney Thu also has lots of experience in assisting multinational and domestic companies in business-related matters, foreign investment in Vietnam, company establishment, and representative office establishment, mergers and acquisitions, equity transfer and other commercial issues.
Attorney Thu are providing legal training services regarding labour and employment law for notable companies in Vietnam.
Attorney Thu has many presentations at legal professional refresher courses as organized by the Vietnam Bar Federation and the Ministry of Justice; Attorney Thu is also a speaker at many workshops on labour law of Vietnam Human Resource Club – VNHR.
